Our goal is to provide each child with 3 gifts, a game and/or book, and stocking stuffers. The donations that we receive will determine the value and quantity of actual gifts your child(ren) will receive. Clothing and bicycle donations are limited and may be used. We do our best to make sure used items are in good or like new condition before including them in your gift packages.

Note, you can only apply to one charity for toys- please disclose applications made to other organizations as we do cross check.

EACH family who is approved for assitance receives a large box of food, a turkey and gifts for each child between 0-17 years old. We provide our low income seniors with a gift certificate from a local grocer.
LOCAL CHILDREN. We are collecting canned food, new toys, new bikes or cash donations through 12/12/16. We then inventory what we have and go shopping for the rest.

We are a small organization and limit our assistance to Orange City residents in an attempt to take care of our own community. If you or someone you know is in need and in lives outside of Orange City please contact your Chamber of Commerce for a list of charities in your area.

The Orange City Sorosis Club is busy scaring up new victims for our 38th Annual Haunted House! This year, DEADTIME STORIES, will open on Thurs, Friday and Saturday nights from Oct 20TH through Oct 29TH.

Each of our rooms is designed around our theme and our set designers are working on their strategies to scare and horrify even the bravest. Imagine your favorite fairytales coming to life....after dark. These stories may knock you into a deeper slumber then you bargain for.

Stay tuned...

It will take over 60 volunteers to transform our 3,000 square foot building into a functional tomb of terror. Last year we had over 2,000 visitors come through raising over $10,000. The monies we raise go toward charitable contributions benefiting area children such as scholarships and school supplies. We are in need of donations for the various costs associated with the production and creation of this event. Monetary donations are much appreciated and as we are a registered non-profit organization, your donation may be tax deductible.

 Our Collect

Keep us, O God, from Pettiness;
Let us be large in thought, in word, in deed.
Let us be done with fault-finding
And leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense
And meet each other face to face,
Without self-pity and without prejudice.
May we never be hasty in judgment
And always generous.
Let us take time for all things;
Make us to grow calm, serene, gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses,
Straightforward and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is the
Little things that create differences;
That in the big things of life we are at one.
And may we strive to touch and to know
The great, common human heart of us all,
And, O Lord God, let us forget not to be kind.

Mary Stewart,  April 1904

Our annual banquets are a time to celebrate the end of a successful year. Each meeting begins with The Pledge of Allegiance and reciting our Collect. We then discuss current events and upcomming programs.
