This year marks our 41st Annual Haunted House!!
H.H. Holmes World Fair 1893 - A Trip to Nowhere will open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from Oct 17th through Oct 26th starting at 7:00PM. $10 Adults $5 Kids 10 and under.
Each year our theme is changed to entice our audience and challenge their fears. Visitors are impressed with the creativity and special effects. Our scare factor is right up there with Halloween Horror Nights!!
This years tour will bring you face to face with one of America’s first serial killers, H. H. Holmes. In 1893, Chicago was given the honor of hosting the World’s Fair. The event attracted millions of people from all over the world. Holmes knew many visitors would search for lodging. His Hotel offered the best quality and security available for the time. Many out-of-town visitors would never be seen again.
Holmes took great pleasure in showing his guests to their very special rooms...the doors only opened from the outside! Throughout the hotel were there were trap doors, peepholes, stairways that led nowhere, and chutes that led into the basement. The basement was designed as a lab complete with a dissecting table, stretching rack, and crematory. The monies we raise supports our mission statement and allows us to make various charitable contributions. The Sorosis Club gives out scholarships to graduating High School Seniors, funds for School Supplies, puts on FREE events like our Summer Splash Bash, Lunch with Easter Bunny, Lunch with Santa and supports our biggest giving event, Operation Santa! Visit our website and facebook pages for more information.

FREE Summer Splash Bash August 3rd

This is a family friendly event and we had a blast last year!  We had moms, dads, grandparents and kids all running around and having a great time. Be prepared to get soaked. Bring towels, drinks and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy together.
This year we are adding SNOW CONES and a WATER SLIDE!! Rumor has it there might even be WATER BALLOON ARENA! We will have a toddler section for the little ones too.

Did you know that 75% of Volusia County Schools qualify for Title 1 assistance? This is due to the high level of low income households in our area. Our Summer Splash Bash is FREE. All families with school aged children are encouraged to bring your whole family and enjoy each others company before the new school year begins. Soon you will be back to your busy schedules!

All of our annual events are organized and run by volunteers. Our group has about 30 members who give their time and efforts to reach out to our community and neighboring cities like Deland, Deltona and Debary. You will find our members at the Manatee Festival, Orange City's 4th of July Celebration and other various fundraisers held during the year. Our biggest fundraising event is our ANNUAL HAUNTED HOUSE which opens to the public for 6 select nights in October. These fundraisers makes it possible for our annual programs like our annual Easter Egg Hunt, Lunch with Santa, Parades and Operation Santa. We are also able to give are schools much needed funds for  school supplies, swimming lessons, and for teachers. Scholarships to High School Graduates are given out each year as well as other various donations. You can visit our website to learn more about us and our initiatives.

School Supply Drive ends Tuesday, August 6th

Our School Supply Drive begins now through Tuesday, August 6th. A specific list of items needed are listed on our flyer but you can also find very specific lists in most department stores like Walmart and Target.

Did you know that 75% of Volusia County Schools qualify for Title 1 assistance? This is due to the high level of low income households. Many of our past fundraising efforts generate donations geared to the younger elementary students so we are making a special request for items that will benefit Riverside Middle School Students with the supplies they need the most. We also make donations to other area schools for school supplies, swimming lessons, student and teachers needs.

We could not make these donations possible without the help of the wonderful people in this community!! Thank you so much for your help and we hope to see you at our Back To School Summer Splash Event on Saturday, August 3rd!

You can drop off your donations off at our Summer Splash Bash Event at Valentine Park August 3rd from 10AM-12PM

Happy New Year and a HUGE Thank you to all of our supporters!

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who supported Operation Santa...what a difference you made!!

The Sorosis Club’s mission – the very reason we exist – is to contribute to the betterment of our community and promote the welfare of our youth. Our Operation Santa program is our greatest annual benefit and would not be possible without the support of our community.

Choosing what organization to donate to at Christmas time is not always easy and we are so grateful you chose to donate to Operation Santa. The combined contributions we received provided for over 100 families and Senior Citizens in our community. Families received boxes filled with non-perishable foods along with a turkey and all the trimmings for a Christmas dinner. We provided Christmas presents for all of the children along with stocking stuffers, books and/or games. Every effort was made to provide these children with their “wishes” for Christmas. Your donation helped to promote hope and happiness to those in need. We cannot think of a better way to celebrate the magic of Christmas. On behalf of our club members and volunteers who have made Operation Santa possible, thank you.

You can read more about our organization and our initiatives – and your important part in it – on our website by logging in at You can also find us on Facebook where you can find our current events information.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year
